Euragglo, exclusive representative of C.F. NIELSEN A/S on the French market

Since the January 1st, 2018, Euragglo S.A.S. is the official representative of the Danish company C.F. Nielsen A/S on the French Market. This representation follows the acquisition of C.F. Nielsen A/S by the German company RUF Briquetting Systems, of which Euragglo has been the exclusive distributor in France for many years now.

RUF, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, is the world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of hydraulic briquetting presses, dedicated to the agglomeration of various raw materials such as wood, biomass and metals. Since its creation in 1969 by Hans RUF, the company has acquired a strong international experience by installing its agglomeration equipment in more than a hundred countries around the world. Today, Roland RUF and Wolfgang RUF, the 2 sons of Hans RUF, are at the head of the family business.

Since 1993, RUF has placed its total truth in Euragglo S.A.S. by making our company its exclusive distributor on the French Market. We have been entrusted with the marketing of wood and biomass ranges of equipment that can process raw materials such as sawdust, chips and wood scraps, but also as cotton, paper, miscanthus or tobacco… The wood/biomass presses have hourly capacities ranging from 30 kg/h to 1,500 kg/h. The range of hydraulic presses dedicated to metals which we also distribute, covers hourly capacities ranging from 30 kg/h to 4,800kg/h and can process raw materials as aluminium, cast iron and stainless steel, titanium turnings or grinding sludge…

It’s in July 2018, with the aim to develop and expand the range, that RUF Briquetting Systems acquired the Danish company C.F. Nielsen. C.F. Nielsen had several major technologies in the briquetting field: mechanical briquetting and extrusion-briquetting, also known as Shimada technology.

RUF’s choice to acquire C.F. Nielsen was also affected by the experience acquired by the Danish company over the years.  Indeed, C.F. Nielsen’s activity began in 1889 when Carl Frederik Nielsen started producing cast iron in Baelum, Denmark. Over time, the company evolved and developed into the engineering company we know today. The company remained in the hands of the Nielsen family for more than 100 years, until 1998, when Henning M. Larsen acquired 50% of the company before becoming the full owner a few years later. In 2011, all the shares belonged to the 2 executives Mr. Henning M. Larsen and Mr. Mogens Slot Knudsen, who held them until July 2018 before selling them to RUF Briquetting Systems.

As we were saying before, the Danish company C.F. Nielsen A/S is specialized in the design and installation of mechanical briquetting presses and extrusion equipment dedicated to the processing of raw materials such as wood, biomass and other agricultural wastes (rice, coffee and peanut hulls, bagasse, corn and cotton stems, miscanthus…) in order to be used in industrial boilers, stoves or fireplaces for individual uses.

The wide range of equipment offered by C.F. Nielsen cover hourly capacities from 200kg/h up to 5 T/h per line thanks, in particular, to the SBP-9 Star Press, which is currently the largest mechanical briquetting press in the world, since it is a machine composed of 9 briquetting lines.

The acquiring of C.F. Nielsen by RUF represents a significant milestone in the lives of both companies. They represent a combined experience of more than 150 years and 5,500 machines sold worldwide. This way, they ensure a significant growth and expansion into new markets. It is precisely in the context of this market expansion that the 2 companies have chosen to entrust Euragglo with the official representation of C.F. Nielsen on the French territory.

The merger then enables the group to offer a unique and complete range of briquetting equipment, combining mechanical, hydraulic and extrusion briquetting technologies, also completing the historical range of roller-presses offered by Euragglo, which are used for the briquetting of charcoal and other raw materials, mainly mineral and metallic.
